Mr George
Mr George Urquhart was a single malt whisky pioneer and second generation member of the family behind Gordon & MacPhail. 2019 would have been his 100th birthday and to commemorate his life and his influence on Scotland’s whisky industry, we were commissioned to make a short film to accompany the release of a limited edition 65 year old whisky. The film includes some of the most influential voices from the malt whisky industry including members of his family and people that knew him.
Filming started with a 3-day trip to Speyside to meet some of the interviewees and the visit some of the places where Mr George lived and worked, including the Gordon and MacPhail shop which still trades from the same site.
Below is the final film which was released alongside the commemorative bottle.
As part of the project we also produced a series of shorter cuts for use on social media along with this short clip to be used as the background webpage header on the Mr George landing page.
